Trump quotes about Epstein
This list covers direct quotes, public statements, major book excerpts, and widely repeated
paraphrased lines. I'll break it down by source so you can check for yourself.
New York Magazine (2002)
Source: New York Magazine, October 2002, "Jeffrey Epstein: International Money Man of Mystery" by
Landon Thomas Jr.
Trump quote:
"I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he
likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt
about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life."
-
This is the most famous direct quote and is cited in NY Mag, NYT, Vanity Fair, BBC, The Atlantic and
countless reprints.
2 White House remarks - July 9, 2019 (Epstein re-arrested)
Source: White House press gaggle, multiple outlets (NYT, Guardian, CNN, AP)
Reporter: Can you tell us about your relationship with Jeffrey Epstein?
Trump:
"I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him. People in Palm Beach knew him. He was a
fixture in Palm Beach. I had a falling out with him a long time ago. I don't think I've spoken to him
for 15 years. I wasn't a fan."
Additional lines from same event (asked again):
"I knew him, I saw him once or twice, and that's it."
These lines are direct from the same press Q&A. Most outlets print just one version.
3 Press references to Mar-a-Lago "ban"
Trump has never been directly quoted saying "I banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago” on record — but
multiple reputable reports say Trump claimed this privately:
• Miami Herald 2018 investigation (Julie K. Brown)
• Vanity Fair 2003 (Vicky Ward) follow-up
• Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury says Trump boasted Epstein was banned "for hitting on a young girl."
This is a second-hand paraphrase, not an exact quote.
No transcript exists of Trump saying: "I banned him."
Trump on Ghislaine Maxwell - July 2020
Technically about Epstein's co-conspirator but often cited together:
Reporter: Do you wish Maxwell well?
Trump:
"I just wish her well, frankly. I've met her numerous times over the years. I wish her well,
whatever it is."
(July 21, 2020, COVID-19 briefing - CNN, NYT, BBC)
☑5 Indirect paraphrased lines
No other unique direct quotes exist, but some books and news pieces claim Trump said or bragged
about Epstein's parties:
• Fire and Fury (Michael Wolff):
。 Trump "liked Epstein's parties because they were full of girls." (Paraphrase)
• Too Much and Never Enough (Mary Trump):
。 Mary claims Donald boasted about knowing men "who could get anything - girls, models,
whatever." (No direct quote, more of a family anecdote.)
No direct, recorded words - just reported by the authors.
6 Other court references
• Some Epstein legal filings mention Trump's name on party guest lists and logs.
• Virginia Giuffre deposition: mentions Trump saw Epstein "socially." No direct quote.
⚫ Flight logs: show Trump listed as a passenger once from Palm Beach to New York (disputed). No
spoken quote.
